Mobility and access plan to the Circuit for the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2025
The Circuit wants to make it easier for people to get in and out with special vehicle mobility devices, changes to the parking system, and extra public transport with free buses from Montmeló and Parets stations.
21 May, 2025 | Formula 1
Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will implement a series of measures for the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2025 as regards mobility and access to the sports venue to improve traffic flow, especially for private vehicles during peak hours of the event, and to encourage the use of public transport.
This plan was announced at a press conference led by Ramon Lamiel, Director of the Catalan Traffic Service (SCT), Lourdes Puigbarraca, Deputy Director of Traffic Management at the SCT, Sergi Pla, Head of the North Metropolitan Police Area (Mossos d’Esquadra), Ignasi Armengol, Director of Fira Circuit, and Constantí Serrallonga, Director of Fira de Barcelona.
PRIVATE VEHICLE – PARKING AND ACCESS SYSTEM
Traffic arrangements
In order to speed up the entry of vehicles to the Circuit, the access to the venue will be reinforced on roads such as AP7, C33, C17 and C35 with continuous controls to guide parking users, staff and other groups, preventing the entry and diverting the traffic of those who do not have parking accreditation or personal accreditation for the EVENT. For the exit, all roads will have the function of evacuating the sports venue, preventing vehicles from entering it (Saturday from 4 p.m. and Sunday from 3 p.m.).
It is important to note that attendees must follow only the signs and instructions of the officers, as GPS navigators may provide incorrect information (road closures, blocked access, etc.).
Spectator parking with online purchase
This year, spectator parking can be purchased online on the Circuit’s official ticket platform. The purchased ticket will serve as proof of accreditation for the car, without the need for any stickers, and for this reason it is essential to provide the car’s registration number for later identification in the car park by means of a camera.
This spectator car park is a single, very large area that will fill up according to the order of arrival of attendees and as directed by the staff on site. Please note that you will not be able to access the perimeter of the Circuit with a private vehicle without purchasing a parking space. Once you have parked your vehicle, you can access the venue on foot through any of the Circuit gates.
Free motobike parking
Motorbikes are parked free of charge and no purchase or action is required. Parking areas are located at Rocco’s Ranch and in the spectator car park, with a reserved area for motorcycles.
Taxi ranks
In addition, the Circuit has also set up two taxi ranks. One is next to the West entrance and Gate 1, and the other is near the East entrance and Gate 3. This means that visitors arriving by taxi can reach both of the Circuit’s main gates.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT – FREE SERVICES
Enhanced public transport schedule
As always, the Circuit recommends the use of public transport to reach its facilities. For the occasion, both Rodalies de Catalunya and Sagalés will offer a wide range of services.
- Bus
Autocares Sagalés will also offer its services to attend the Grand Prix. Line L418 buses will depart from Barcelona city centre, from the North Bus Station (Estació de Nord, C/Ali Bei, 80). This location allows connection with the Metro and Rodalies Catalunya train services, as the station is located next to Arc de Triomf. Arrivals will be near Gate 3 of the Circuit.
The service will be available on Friday 30 May and Saturday 31 May from 8 a.m. and on Sunday 1 June from 7 a.m., every day until 1:30 p.m. for the outward journey. For the return trip, the service will run on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased on the Sagalés website.
These buses will also depart from the Barcelona coast (specifically from Lloret de Mar) and will pass through several towns on their way to the Circuit, arriving in front of Gate 3. Reservations can be made here.
- Train
To facilitate fan mobility, Rodalies de Catalunya will increase service with nearly 200,000 additional seats and establish a special schedule that ensures greater average frequency during hours when higher passenger traffic is expected.
Special daily trains will be added to the usual service on the R2 North line (Airport – Barcelona – Montmeló – Maçanet), as is customary, and the R11 line (Barcelona Sants – Portbou) will also be enabled to reach the Circuit. These services will be available from Grand Prix Friday until Sunday (30 May – 1 June).
Rodalies de Catalunya will ensure an average frequency of 10 minutes, with up to five trains per hour. On Friday 30, 48 trains on the R11 line will make an additional stop at Montmeló. On Saturday 31, the service will be reinforced with 70 new trains stopping at Montmeló on the R2 and R11 lines, and on Sunday the service will also be increased with 75 new stops on both lines.
To facilitate and speed up ticket purchases, Rodalies de Catalunya will programme the ticket machines so that the first ticket to appear on the screen is a return ticket to the municipality of Montmeló, near Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
In addition, passengers arriving on AVE-Larga Distancia trains at Barcelona Sants will have connections to Montmeló on the R2 line, and the ticket for travelling on Rodalies de Catalunya trains will be included.
Free bus service from Montmeló and Parets stations to the Circuit
To reinforce and encourage the use of public transport, the Circuit will provide a free bus service from Montmeló Station (lines R2, R2 Nord and R8) and Parets Station (line R3) to the track. In the case of Montmeló, the stop will be located near Gate 6 (Calle del Camí Fondo de Can Guitet) and in the case of Parets, on Calle Impremta, with the nearest gate being Gate 7. This service will be available from 8 a.m. on Friday to Sunday during the Grand Prix.
This service will also be available for departure from the Circuit when the track activity has finished. In the event of congestion on the exit roads from the Circuit, the route may be interrupted due to the impossibility of providing the service.
