Fans take over the Circuit for the Spanish F1 Grand Prix Pit Walk

This traditional event has allowed them to get right to the heart of the action, the pit lane. There, they were able to see some of their idols ahead of the Grand Prix, which will kick off tomorrow with track activity.

The 35th Spanish Grand Prix, held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, began with a warm-up day, setting the scene for the FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2025. Fans played a significant role in this event.

As on every Grand Prix Thursday, the Catalan facilities opened their gates for the Pit Walk, an initiative that is particularly popular with fans as it gives them the opportunity to visit the Circuit’s pit lane, see all the garages up close, and catch a glimpse of some of their idols.

Although there was no activity on the track, the premier class drivers were also present at the Barcelona circuit today to fulfil their media and sponsor commitments. Some of them even attended the official press conference that inaugurated the event.

As expected, Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz were present after yesterday’s crowd-pleasing appearance at the Formula 1® Barcelona Fan Village Fan Forum. They were joined by Lando Norris, Oliver Bearman, George Russell and Yuki Tsunoda to discuss the week’s key topic: the implementation of the new FIA regulations on front wings.

Although this measure was decided upon shortly before the start of the season in Australia, the teams requested more time to prepare for the change involving reduced flexibility of the front wings through stricter static checks.

Barcelona is also known for introducing many changes and improvements due to its proximity to European factories and the complexity of its layout. This allows for the testing of different situations thanks to the circuit’s mix of fast and slow corners and straights.

Fernando Alonso was the most forthcoming with information about what could be the key moment of the weekend. “Barcelona will tell us a little more about the new package and the improvements. Some of us tried out changes in Imola and Monaco, but we need this weekend to really know where we all stand in more normal conditions.”

Meanwhile, George Russell referred to another of the circuit’s major challenges: the high temperatures. “With track temperatures above 50ºC, it will be difficult to manage the tyres this weekend. Even so, we hope to return to our usual position in the top 5.”

Carlos Sainz added: “if I had to design the ideal layout for the FW47, it would be different from Barcelona. The Circuit will present us with aerodynamic challenges, but I am confident that we can perform well.’ A ninth or tenth place finish may be realistic.”

The Formula 1® Barcelona Fan Village, pure fun

The Formula 1® Barcelona Fan Village will continue to offer entertainment, music and fun until Saturday 31 May, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. With free admission, visitors simply need to download the invitation from the Circuit’s ticket portal to enjoy all this and much more.

A sustainable event

Under the 3C management philosophy (Conscience, Commitment and Consistency), which integrates social, economic and environmental aspects, the Circuit works to achieve responsible activity in its mission ‘Driving for a better future’, within the framework of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals.

This GP, which is certified to ISO 20121 and ISO 14001 standards, is once again proud to be held at Catalonia’s largest public self-consumption photovoltaic facility. The Catalan racetrack has a total of 2,319 solar panels that generate 50% of the energy consumed.

Other promoted actions are the rental of low-emission generators, the donation of surplus food, the offer of km0 and ecological food, the presence of drinking water sources in the public areas, the improvement of the biodiversity of the green areas, the collaboration with companies with social value, the valorisation and recycling of waste, the promotion of sustainable mobility, the use of the circular economy and many more.
