New additional measures for the prevention and the control of the infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus

Circuit

Following the instructions given by the General Secretariat of Sport and Physical Activity of the Catalan Government and the decisions taken by the Catalan Government according to the PROCICAT Action Plan for emergencies associated to emerging transmissible diseases with a potential high risk, which has been activated as Emergency Phase 1, and based on the Resolution SLT/719/2020 of the Health Department of the Catalan Government, which adopts new additional measures for the prevention and the control of the infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the activity planned for the following weeks by Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will be affected as follows:

-The sports competitions Ultimate Cup (21 and 22 March), European Le Mans Series (4 and 5 April) and WorldRX of Catalunya-Barcelona (17, 18 and 19 April) are postponed, and new dates will be established in agreement with the respective promoters. The new dates will be duly informed. The tickets already purchased for these events will be valid for the new dates.

-The passage of the Volta a Catalunya (28 March) at the Circuit is postponed, in agreement with the organisers of the event.

-The daily circuit rentals are cancelled until, at least, 5 April.

-All activities scheduled, such as guided tours, educational tours and BiCircuit activities are cancelled until, at least, 5 April.

Although these measures do not affect the staging period of the FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2020 (8 and 10 May), Formula 1® and the FIA have announced changes in the Grand Prix calendar, and we are already analysing the different available options with Formula 1.

As regards the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya de MotoGP™, it is currently not affected by these measures and the event keeps its dates, from 5 to 7 June.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will continue monitoring the evolution of the pandemic, staying in permanent contact with the different bodies and health authorities in order to continue implementing the applicable measures and recommendations, ensuring the health and safety of our visitors.

We are sorry for the inconveniences that these changes may have caused and we offer our apologies to all fans and customers that have been affected by these extraordinary measures.
