The FORMULA 1 ARAMCO GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA 2021, that will be staged at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next weekend, will finally be able to welcome 1,000 fans on 9 May, the day on which the alarm state ends in Spain. The attendants will be Circuit Members, who will be able to enjoy the Grand Prix from the Main Grandstand of the Circuit.

Given the relaxation of the measures in force for the containment of the epidemic outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has drawn-up a new access protocol, which includes the attendance of a maximum of 1,000 people, in line with the measures established by the Catalan Civil Protection Office (PROCICAT) for outdoor events, which can be staged with a 50% capacity and a maximum of 1,000 people with previously allocated seats.

The chance to be able to watch the Grand Prix on site will be offered to Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Members. As the number of members is much higher than one thousand, all those wishing to attend the Grand Prix, will have to register to enter a draw that will be made in front of a notary public, in order to make a random choice of 1,000 Circuit Members, who will be able to attend.

Josep Lluís Santamaría, Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya General Manager, has highlighted “the relevance of being able to open our gates to fans and to reward the Circuit Members for their fidelity along the history of the Circuit at a top level event like Formula 1. We have the chance to be a benchmark in terms of safe sport and to offer a venue with full guarantees. We are very satisfied to be able to make the first step towards a gradual opening of our facilities, and welcome again all those who love sports and the world of motoring, even if this time, it will be only a small number of them”.

Formula 1 has welcomed the decision and has appreciated the support of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, as well as the significance of being able to recover the presence of fans at the Spanish Grand Prix.
