The Catalunya WorldSBK Round, closer than ever to the fans

After two editions marked by the pandemic, the event returns full of activities that bring the championship and the riders closer to the fans.

WorldSBK

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has started the countdown to the Catalunya WorldSBK Round. It will take place from 23 to 25 September with a third edition full of novelties and interesting proposals for the fans, who will also become the protagonists of the weekend.

The area where most of the activities will be concentrated will be the paddock. A stage will be set up for the Paddock Show. Fans will be able to watch the podium ceremonies for all categories (WorldSBK, WorldSSP and WorldSSP300) live, with Michael Hill as the host. Post-race press conferences will also be held on stage, as well as a number of meet and greets with the riders and some chat shows (Motul Race Chat and Tyre Talk). As if all this wasn’t enough, all the practice sessions, qualifying and races will be narrated live and shown on the giant screen of the Paddock Show.

The paddock will also be another major focus of attention for the fans. There, they will be able to watch the bikes make their way to the Parc Fermé at the end of each race. This is a key moment to not miss the conversations between the participants and their teams, as well as their first sensations and reactions after seeing the chequered flag. To access the paddock and all its proposals, it is necessary to have a three-day ticket that includes access to the paddock or to buy the paddock extra separately with a single-day ticket. This extra is priced at €10 for the adult rate, €5 for the junior rate (8-16 years old) at the online ticket office in advance, while it is free of charge for the children’s rate (up to 7 years old).

To get to know another of the most emblematic places of Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, visitors will be able to walk around the pit lane thanks to the Pit Walk. It is a unique opportunity to walk a few metres away from the pits and experience the most technical and professional atmosphere of the WorldSBK. Some riders even approach the fans to take pictures or sign autographs. The Pit Walk will be held both on Saturday at 5.00 p.m. and until 5.45 p.m. and on Sunday from 11.25 a.m. to 12.05 p.m. This activity can be purchased separately and costs €10 for the adult rate, €5 for the junior rate (8-16 years old) at the online ticket office in advance, while it is free for the children’s rate (up to 7 years old). It can also be purchased together with a three-day pass.

For those who prefer action, there is the Parade Lap, a lap of honour around Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya guided behind the safety car with your own motorbike. This activity will take place on Saturday 24 September at 4.30 p.m. and a Catalunya WorldSBK event ticket is required to purchase this extra, priced at €5 per person (activity for over 18s only). It is also possible to purchase three-day passes that already include this experience. Due to incompatibility of schedules, fans taking the Parade Lap will not be able to participate in the Pit Walk on Saturday.

Next to the Circuit, specifically at Rocco’s Ranch, the third race of the Rocco’s Cup will take place. This will be a Dirt Track event and fans will be able to come and enjoy the whole show once the activity on the asphalt of the Circuit has finished. With a late evening proposal (from 6.00 p.m. to 11.30 p.m.) it is an option to take into account to finish off a day full of motorcycling. In addition, there will be different gastronomic proposals for the attendees.
