The EcoFleet Meeting Point has taken place one again at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. For the third year in a row, the Catalan racetrack has been host to the meeting organised by AEGFA (Spanish Association of Car Fleet Managers) and the Live Platform. These entities chose the Circuit again, since it is a facility committed to the environment, as it is shown by the ISO 14001-2015 certification and the several environmental awards it has received.

The event, aimed at fleets of sustainable vehicles both of public bodies and private companies, has gathered and made known the most efficient solutions as regards corporate mobility. In addition to the speeches made by experts in the sector, the paddock of the Circuit hosted a ‘test drive’ area, an experiential space made available to the attendants with different vehicle makes of low-emission vehicles with alternative drive technologies.

Victor Noguer, AEGFA President, opened the meeting and presented the programme of this third edition. Cecilia Conde was in charge of giving voice to the Live Platform, and explained the measures boosted by the action plan for the promotion of the electric vehicle in professional fleets, such as the reduction of local emissions, energy saving, noise reduction and the promotion of renewable energies.

The Live Platform opens up to different transformation projects and a good example are companies like Aigües de Barcelona. Bernat Rovira, Director of the North Zone, shared with all the attendants how it became the largest electric fleet of Catalonia. On the other hand, Oriol Martinez talked about the introduction of natural gas for vehicles in companies, while the Director for Systems and Engineering at Evarm, Xavier Ribas, explained practical cases and incentives to do so. The last speech was by Maíta Fernández-Armesto, from the transversal mobility project coordination area of the Barcelona City Council, who talked about the importance of the control of the access of polluting vehicles to the inner perimeter of Barcelona, the city with the highest vehicle density per square meter.
